There are no known web-based fixes for preventing Edge from opening. The Firefox browser appears as the default browser on my computer.
If you have Windows 11, which is currently available on Windows 10, you should be able to fix the same problem as described below. The PC Buyer reports that if you start Stop Edge at startup, it begins at Sleep. However, you can disable this feature so that Edge doesn’t automatically open after sleep. By default, Edge is set to resume your last browsing session when you start it back up. If you’re using Microsoft Edge and you find that it automatically opens up after you put your computer to sleep, there are a few things you can do to change this behavior.
